Adventure travel is a type of tourism, involving exploration or travel to remote, exotic and possibly hostile areas. Adventure tourism is rapidly growing in popularity, as tourists seek different kinds of vacations. According to the U.S. based Adventure Travel Trade Association, adventure travel may be any tourist activity, including two of the following three components: a physical activity, acultural exchange or interaction and engagement with nature.

Adventure tourism gains much of its excitement by allowing its participants to step outside of their comfort zone. This may be from experiencing culture shock or through the performance of acts, that require significant effort and involve some degree of risk (real or perceived) and/or physical danger. This may include activities such as mountaineering, trekking, bungee jumping, mountain biking,rafting, zip-lining and rock climbing. Some obscure forms of adventure travel include disaster and ghetto tourism.Other rising forms of adventure travel include social and jungle tourism.

Access to inexpensive consumer technology, with respect to Global Positioning Systems, flashpacking, social networking and photography, have increased the worldwide interest in adventure travel.The interest in independent adventure travel has also increased as more specialist travel websites emerge offering previously niche locations and sports.

The adjective montane is used to describe mountainous areas and things associated with them. The study of mountains is called Orography.

Exogeology deals with planetary mountains, which in that branch of science are usually called montes (singular—mons). The highest mountain on earth is the Mount Everest 8,848 m (29,029 ft). The highest known mountain in the Solar System is Olympus Mons on the planet Mars at 21,171 m (69,459 ft).

Kali ini kita akan mandi air terjun pula..Tidak jauh dari pekan semenyeh terselindung satu tempat menarik yang perlu kita kunjungi. air terjun sungai tekala. 14 kilometer dari pekan semenyeh.

Perjalanan yang mengambil masa dalam 20 minit akhirnya sampai juga. tapi sebelum itu bagi yang tidak membawa makanan jangan risau kerana banyak deretan kedai berada di sepanjang pintu masuk. bayaran masuk yang dikenakan bagi dewasa rm 1.00 dan budak-budak yang berumur 12 tahun kebawah rm 0.50..

sebelum masuk ada disediakan peta lokasi.

Bagi yang berkeluarga atau berkumpulan, dekat sungai tekala ini memang banyak wakaf. jadi anda tidak perlu risau jika hujan turun..
